RESET FOR 2025

I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling excited and optimistic about the year ahead. After the challenges of 2024, I’m ready to reset and embrace 2025 with a positive outlook.

To guide me, I’ve chosen three focus words that reflect my intentions and will help me stay on track toward achieving my goals

Improve

This year I am committed to improving every aspect of my life.

  • Improve my quality of life by setting clear boundaries between work and leisure to create more balance

  • Enhance my business by growing a specialised team to better serve my clients

  • Focus on personal growth by becoming fitter, stronger, and healthier

  • Develop my allotment to increase harvests and cultivate better-quality crops

Balance

Striking the right balance is essential to maintaining harmony in my life

  • Work-life balance: Prioritising time for both productivity and relaxation

  • Nutritional balance: Consistently eating a diet that supports my health and energy

  • Financial balance: Managing my finances so I can enjoy life while also saving for the future

Consistent

Consistency is the key to sustainable progress

  • Time and productivity: Establishing routines that help me manage my day effectively

  • Energy levels: Maintaining consistent energy to accomplish daily goals

  • Healthy habits: Committing to a consistently healthy lifestyle.

These three words—Improve, Balance, and Consistent—are interconnected and will guide my decisions, actions, and focus throughout 2025. By keeping these themes in mind, I’ll be able to use my time wisely and stay aligned with my goals.

Goal Setting and Organizing My Year

Each year, I follow a structured process to prepare for the year ahead:

Reflect on the past year: I evaluate what worked, what didn’t, and the reasons behind those outcomes

Define my vision: I think about where I want to be in 12 months and what I need to achieve to get there

Create a plan: A clear plan transforms my goals from dreams into actionable steps. After all, “a goal without a plan is just a dream.” With this approach, I’m excited to make 2025 a year of growth, balance, and achievement.

Here’s my Goal Setting Process

Setting goals is one of the most powerful tools for personal and professional growth. Over the years, I've developed a process that helps me stay focused, balanced, and motivated. Here's a breakdown of my goal-setting approach:

1. Core Pillar Review

I start by reflecting on the Core Pillars of my business and life. These pillars represent the foundational areas that matter most to me. By reviewing how well I'm doing in each area, I can identify strengths to build on and areas that need improvement. This clarity helps me focus my energy where it’s needed most.

2. Wheel of Life Review

Balance is key. To ensure I’m not neglecting any part of my life, I reflect on my Wheel of Life. I’ve customized the sections to reflect what’s most relevant to me, such as health, business, social and personal growth. This visual tool helps me see where I’m thriving and where I need to invest more time and effort.

3. Review My Why

My "why" is my anchor. It’s the core reason behind everything I do. Although my "why" doesn’t change often, I make it a point to revisit it regularly. This reminder keeps me grounded and motivated, especially during challenging times.

4. General Goal Setting for the Year

Using the insights from my reflections, I decide what I want to achieve in the year ahead. For 2025, I’m focusing on ambitious but achievable goals that will not only improve my business but help me create balance in my life. Having some overarching goals gives me direction and purpose for the year.

5. Choose My Focus Words

Each year, I select three focus words to guide my decisions and actions. These words act as a compass, helping me focus on my priorities. For example, last year, one of my focus words was FUN. When choosing a new car, I used this word to guide my decision, opting for a fun-filled Mini Cooper S over a more conventional choice. It turned out to be one of the best decisions I made—I absolutely love my mighty Mini!

6. Quarter 1 Goal Setting: Set 3 Goals and 6 Actions per Goal

I’m a big fan of the 12-Week Year approach by Brian Moran. Planning in 12-week blocks makes the timeline tangible and actionable. For each quarter, I set three main goals and break each goal into six specific, achievable actions. This structure helps me stay focused and track progress effectively.

7. Perfect Week

A perfect week doesn’t just happen; it’s planned. I outline what an ideal week looks like for me, prioritising activities and tasks that align with my goals. This helps me manage my time better and ensure I’m making progress while maintaining balance.

8. Monthly, Weekly, and Daily Tasks

Breaking goals into monthly, weekly, and daily tasks is crucial for staying on track. I use checklists to ensure nothing falls through the cracks. This systematic approach helps me carve out time for what truly matters.

9. Plan Targets for January

At the start of each month, I set six specific targets to focus on. These are further broken down into smaller, actionable steps that I can check off as I complete them. This method keeps me motivated and ensures steady progress.

10. Review and Track Progress Weekly

Regular reviews are non-negotiable. Each week, I assess my progress, adjust my plans if needed, and set tasks for the upcoming week. This habit keeps me accountable and helps me stay on course toward achieving my goals.

By following this process, I’m able to approach each year with clarity and confidence. Goal setting isn’t just about what you want to achieve; it’s about creating a system that supports consistent progress and aligns with your values. Here’s to making 2025 the best year yet!
